We would have liked to have seen (or rather, heard)
greater stereo separation, but the physical constraints of the 38» front unit mean that can only go so far.
There is, of course,
greater stereo separation from two widely spaced speakers than one HomePod can manage, but the Sonos One pair don't quite match the bass of the HomePod.
Not exact matches
It's nice that there is
stereo separation here, but, as is typical with tablet speakers, they don't sound
great very good.
The LG E7 OLED TV's soundbar may not appear sizable, and it's not particularly
great at producing low tones, but it offers a full, rich sound with plenty of
stereo separation.
The smaller Pixel 2 sounds
great, but a quick test of the
stereo separation on this phone reveals that the two drivers sound totally different.
But even so, do you get any sense of
stereo separation at all from two speakers scarcely 5 inches apart, especially at a listening distance mandated by an audience
greater than one?
Designed for 55 ″ and larger TVs, the VIZIO 54 ″ 3.0 sound bar creates a
greater separation between the left and right channels for an enhanced
stereo experience and a bigger sound stage to fill the room that big screens usually reside.
Problematically, however, while
stereo separation is
great it can't fix the speaker's lack of bass and treble clarity — for that you'll have to step up in size or jump over to one of its competitors.
