I think finding people who started at the same time as you in a similar niche perhaps (not necessarily the same exact style as you, but maybe bloggers who all blog about homes or recipes, or family blogs or craft) is a great reason to connect because you'll probably have all the same types of questions and same types of challenges and can share audiences with each other.
