The 3 ladies are busy
grinding wheat flour with their hand mills.
Although I use buttermilk in mine and I always substitute a cup of freshly
ground wheat flour to give them that nice wheaty bite a little texture and that lovely wheat flecked appearance.
I used fresh
ground wheat flour for the win... and Trader Joe's coconut milk.
I did not use whole grain fresh
ground wheat flour, but it can be used.
Hmm... I haven't tried it before but think it would be difficult to do a complete substitution because the bulgur is a whole grain with texture compared to
a ground wheat flour.

Many companies grind their cornmeal on equipment that also
grinds wheat flour and other glutenous grains.
A few of my readers did that and they found them to be dry as well, that's why I used stone
ground wheat flour and coconut oil.
I first prefer wheat berries to already
ground wheat flour (but either are fine).
The fourth ingredient —
ground wheat flour — is another grain that is often a source of allergies for dogs.
The first five ingredients in this food are: Corn, soybean meal, beef & bone meal,
ground wheat flour, and animal fat (BHA used as preservative).
