I recently have done a small kitchen renovation and went with a shiplap back splash using the pine tongue and
groove boards painted pure white.

Seriously, finding your blog way back when you had the black
painted kitchen cabinets in your first Lettered Cottage has given me the confidence to knock out drywall, learn to use a router and help my husband make tongue and
groove boards to match the outer log walls of our farmhouse.
I was really happy that the
paint seeped between a few of the
board grooves because that's just how old house paneling and trim looks.
Some
paint sticks in the
grooves while others doesn't so it looks messy; as well, some
boards are smooth and some are not after the
paint.
Our 100 year old craftsman house already had two bedrooms with wide tongue and

When caulk gets into the

board — wipe it away with the dry tip of a small pointy
