Higher Heating Value: A measure of heat content based on
the gross energy content of a combustible fuel.
The high - voltage battery located centrally in the subfloor has a battery capacity increased from 20 to 34 Ah and
a gross energy content increased from 7.1 to 11.6 kWh (net energy content: 9.4 kWh).

The
Energy Information Administration typically uses
gross heat
content values.
Note: Heat
content of combustible
energy forms can be expressed in terms of either
gross heat
content (higher or upper heating value) or net heat
content (lower heating value), depending upon whether or not the available heat
energy includes or excludes the
energy used to vaporize water (contained in the original
energy form or created during the combustion process).
Note that within Earth's troposphere, the
gross molecular flow of heat
energy through any surface is of order 100MW / m2 (heat
content times molecular speed).

Heuristically, the
gross moist stability is the difference in
energy content between the air flowing out of the ITCZ in the upper branch of the Hadley cell and the air flowing into the ITCZ near the surface; it is also a measure of the efficiency of the Hadley cell in moving
energy.
