If it's just almonds then any
ground nut will
work perfectly — I think hazelnuts of pecans would taste particularly good here!
If you're
working with anyone that has a
nut allergy then omit the
ground almonds and use a little under 1/4 cup additional coconut flour.
3/4 cup rolled oats (quick - cooking or old - fashioned will
work; instant might get a little dusty) 1/4 cup shredded or flaked unsweetened coconut 2 tablespoons pepitas, or another
nut or seed of your choice 1/4 cup dark or light brown sugar (for low - to - moderate sweetness) 1/8 teaspoon

work bowl of a food processor and pulse until the
nuts are finely

Although I've never had the issue myself, (I would describe the batter as creamy), my best recommendation to avoid the release of oil is to make sure that whatever
nut butter you are
working with has been fully stirred for complete integration of oil and
ground nut (the oil naturally separates and if it is not completely mixed it remains that way and I suspect may runoff more easily in this state).
Here are the few things I did to make mine
work since I didn't have a
nut milk bag to get my first batches of pulp more dry: First I added some
ground chia seed.

I used my nutribullet to try chopping the
nuts but it just really
ground them into a flour consistency, with some larger portions, but this still
worked really well.
Though I'm fine with the rest including
ground nuts — what can you recommend to substitute that will still
work?
To thicken the sauce I used
ground cashew
nuts which
work perfectly for this purpose.
Would a

nut milk variation
work?
I use frozen berries with 1 cup of coconut milk (or any seed /
nut milk), 1 tb of maca powder, 1 tb of
ground flaxseed, 1 tb of quinoa flakes, 1 tb of barleygrass or wheatgrass powder, 1 tb of hemp protein powder, a handful of spinach or kale, and half an avocado
works well too for extra creaminess, 1 - 2 medjool dates or dried figs for sweetness and a teaspoon of frozen ginger for a fiery kick to wake you up.
The
ground nuts don't turn into a flour that's quite as fine as almond flour, but it should still
work!
The Tribest blender is a real
work horse for
grinding whole grains, flax seeds, and
nuts.
