Daniel had to leave the house at 6.30 am this morning as the theatre
group had a performance in Paphos which is
about an
hour and a half's
drive away.
The
group downloaded
about 85 percent of the data from the 370 -
hour experiment while Columbia was in orbit — enough to see that it was working as expected — but the test depended on the full data, which was locked in a nearly 400 - megabyte commercial hard
drive ensconced in a metal «card cage» and housed with other electronics in a larger vessel in the shuttle's cargo bay.
Luckily, the rest of the members in our
group were having the same reservations
about setting up camp in the dark and in the middle of a thunderstorm, so we all agreed to wake up early on Saturday to make the 2 1/2
hour drive to the park.

groups of eager visitors board a bus and
drive for

hours, stopping along the way for lunch and plenty of photo opportunities of pre-Inca terracing and some really impressive gorges.
