RICHMOND, Virginia (CNN)- The three Democrats who battled, at times bitterly, for their party's
gubernatorial nomination came together in Richmond on Wednesday and promised to be unified against Republican Bob McDonnell come November.

The speech was of the red meat variety of the Conservative Party and
comes as he faces a potential challenge from other Republican candidates for the
gubernatorial nomination, including Carl Paladino, Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, Rep. Chris Gibson and Rockland County Executive Ed Day.
The report also
comes as Cuomo's rival for the Democratic
gubernatorial nomination, Cynthia Nixon, has made the project an issue in her campaign.
The endorsement announcement
comes two days after DeFrancisco, a Republican from the Syracuse area, announced he would seek the GOP
gubernatorial nomination.
