While there are many excellent health books on the market that focus on specific methods for
healing the
gut, most of them focus on just one single protocol,
like the low FODMAPS
diet, the SCD
diet, the Body Ecology
Diet or the Paleo
diet.
The GAPS
diet, which is high in nuts
like almonds, was exacerbating my copper toxicity which caused cystic acne on my skin and depleted my zinc, preventing me from
healing my skin,

It's key to remember that 1) progress takes time, but also 2) this is just one small change to your
diet — for example, if someone has irritable bowel symptoms prompted by undiagnosed food intolerances, simply adding gelatin isn't
like to do all that much (those food intolerances are going to need to be identified and addressed, and then gelatin can help with the

Nor is it recommended for those on

While this
gut healing diet involves restriction form inflammatory foods, it focuses mostly on

like bone broth, quality protein, lots of vegetables, healthy fats, and fermented foods.
So in my eyes it is worth following a
gut healing diet protocol and either working with a
gut health specialist or someone
like me who took their health into their own hands and managed to alleviate their symptoms.
That said, if restricting resistant starch seems
like the best approach, it's important to remember that
gut healing diets are meant to be temporary.
Healing the
gut CAN be done (particularly via
diets like the GAPS Diet), but it takes patience and hard work.
When we look at common diseases
like heart disease, HBP, IBD, and thyroid disease, we see that many of them are eased by
gut healing diets.
