I think traditional
controls edge out motion for me (nothing beats
Gyro aiming though), my
only concern is when one archetype of a button layout becomes the industry standard and every game suddenly plays the same.
Gyro controls - the
only way to properly play Splatoon - work brilliantly either handheld or docked, and the map that once sat on the second screen is now a single button press away, with that motion
control now allowing you to mark out a teammate to leap to.
No stage is so large that you can get lost - most sit on a single screen in their entirety - and obstacles are
only ever a nudge of the analogue stick (or a twist of
gyro controls) away from a solution.
The reason for starting with the PS4 controller is because it's not
only a high quality device with standard
controls, but it also has overlapping functionality with the Steam Controller, such as a touchpad and
gyro sensors.
