I was so interested in
having a

I
had really hoped for a
water birth as I
had with Henry, but there was much concern about the floors in our apartment (in a very old building) not being able to hold the weight.
If you're planning to
have a
water birth as I am, you'll need a birthing tub (if your midwife does not provide) and a new hose to fill the tub up
with.
Since
birth, I
had gotten into the habit, in stead of using wipes when we were at the hotel or home, I
would plunk him into the sink (following a wet or poopy diaper)
with Luke warm

would always pee.

would need... the placenta came soon after & maria helped me to bed... i really just wanted to look at my 2 babies - to stand over them & beam light, gratitude & promises of infinite love & support... i wanted a natural
birth, i
had a natural
birth & it continues to this day... i am writing my
birth story on wayana's 15 month celebration...
Not all doctors or midwives
have experience
with giving
birth in
water or feel comfortable
with the idea.
I stay home
with my kids right now, and I homeschool, but when they are grown I will probably go back to school, and obstetrics is a field I
've considered just so that maybe I can make a bit of a good difference, and give women the best of both worlds (like a
water birth, in a hospital
with a doula or midwife
with an OB on staff or back up in case something went wrong.)
The BWF story that just haunts me is the first time mom who
had NO prenatal care who gave
birth in a log cabin
with no electricity, no running
water, out in the middle of the woods
with snow coving the ground.
I was so much more «present» for this
birth than my first
water birth, which was also swift and peaceful, however, I must
have mentally escaped to «labor land»
with my first.
I mentioned that I
had been promised a birthing tub to labor in and some receptionist chimed in
with» You cant
have a
water birth room
with twins».
When we moved to New York in the»80s, it was impossible to find a midwife who
would take our insurance, so I went to a doctor who worked
with midwives and pioneered using the Leboyer (precursor to
water birth) in New York.
I hoped to
have a natural
birth with the support of my husband and wonderful doula but after my
water broke prematurely and my uterus contracting for literally 4 days straight, it completely stalled at 8 cm and I
had to come to peace
with interventions due to risk for infection and my loss of strength and sanity (after being in utter pain for 26 hours straight).
Especially if your are giving
birth in
water at the hospital or at the birthing center make sure to talk
with your midwife about all the process as there are some rules and regulations they
have to follow during
water births.
I remember discussing
with him that I didn't really want him messing around too much and to get the
birth pool set up pretty quickly because it
would take a while to fill up
with water.
While I cuddled
with Emilia, Kevin broke down the
birth pool and turned off the sprinkler that
had been
watering the garden for the previous six hours.
In the five years since the clinic was opened, more than 300 mothers
have practised the technique, often in connection
with a
water birth.
I
had the antibiotic on standby, and planned

have to get the stitching inside there feeling the niddle down there was a extremely painful and I was screaming all the way through the process and now am pregnant again first few weeks was not easy At all but now a moment my second trimesters and am praying for easy

Eventually I felt comfortable enough to
have another baby, and I am happy to report that I
had a wonderful experience the second time around: a med - free, intervention - free
water birth and a healthy 9 and a half pound baby boy,
with no post-partum complications.

birth supporters, who also knew,
had been a bit more vocal for me, but, in the end, what was most important to me — that I birthed my baby peacefully, at home, in

had been reluctant to agree to, because I developed gestational diabetes, (this was treated
with Creative Healing on my pancreas from 30 weeks onwards and blood sugars rapidly returned to normal levels), and I was told that the baby could be hypoglycaemic.
