nice to see you crawl out of your hole just in time to offer your 2 cents worth once again... unlike yourself I started following this team long before Wenger arrived on the scene and will continue to do so long after he's gone... in his earlier years I admired the cerebral elements he brought to the EPL, which at that point was more brutish than beautiful, and I respected the seemingly tireless efforts of Arsene, Dein & staff to uncover and develop talent without sacrificing the product on the field... likewise I appreciated that such a youthful manager wasn't afraid to bring strong personalities and / or world - class players into the fold without being fearful of how said players would potentially undermine and / or dilute his authority... unfortunately this all changed about 10 years ago and culminated in the removal of all our greatest players, both young and old, without any real replacements coming in... from Henry to RVP to Fabergas and Nasri, it was easy to see that this club was no longer interested in competing at the highest levels... instead of being honest, minus the ridiculous claims regarding the new stadium, Wenger chose to side with management and in doing so became the «front man» for this corporation pretending to be a world - class soccer club... without the «front man» this organization would have been exposed numerous years earlier, so his presence was imperative if the facade was to continue... it's for this reason and more that I despise what this once great man and Kroenke has done to my beloved club... the gutless, shameful and manipulative way they have treated the fans, like myself, is largely indefensible and this is why I felt it necessary to start offering my opinion in a public format... trust me, I resisted the temptation for many years but as long as the same shit continues to exist I will voice my opinions and if you don't like it maybe you should look for a different team to pretend to follow
He played consistently for 6 MONTHS, continued his form in pre-season, has one bad game because of rustiness every player suffers after months without PL, and all of a sudden he's crap??? Let's get real here.It is very unlikely that ANY professional player will ever say anything derogatory about a teammate that has just left the club.If Jack had said about Coq - «Grew up playing with him in the Youth Team and have fond memories of a player they though he had very limited ability he always gave his all.Very surprised and disappointed the club never invested in a World Class defensive midfielder that we have quite obviously been lacking for a number of seasons and would no doubt have improved the defensive weakness we have shown over a number of seasons» we would have echoed his thoughts entirely. If he had said about Theo - «A player who should have been so much better than he ended up being. He had everything needed to be a prolific player for our club but I can understand the fans frustrations with his continued lack - lustre performances and total lack of a football brain.I think this is best explained by the managers preference to play a player of such limited ability as Alex Iwobi in front of Theo pretty much says it all» we again would have all nodded our agreement.Although Jack never mentioned Alexis Sanchez I would imagine something along the lines of «If the Manager had not persisted with players with such limited ability such as Francis and Theo and instead bought the world class players needed into the club then Sanchez would still most likely be here. The fans must wonder what the hell goes on at the club as they pay fortunes for the privalage of following our club but it seems the millions generated ends up purchasing a new Texas Ranch for the Owner or in a yearly renumeration of # 9million pounds to our manager&raClass defensive midfielder that we have quite obviously been lacking for a number of seasons and would no doubt have improved the defensive weakness we have shown over a number of seasons» we would have echoed his thoughts entirely. The fans must wonder what the hell goes on at the club as they pay fortunes for the privalage of following our club but it seems the millions generated ends up purchasing a new Texas Ranch for the Owner or in a yearly renumeration of # 9million pounds to our manager&raclass players needed into the club then Sanchez would still most likely be here. The fans must wonder what the hell goes on at the club as they pay fortunes for the privalage of following our club but it seems the millions generated ends up purchasing a new Texas Ranch for the Owner or in a yearly renumeration of # 9million pounds to our manager».
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
we already have a world class striker in alexandre lacazette but we are not even playing to his strengths.we continue to pass sideways instead of being more direct.
Either Wenger is reluctant to continue to spend on these types of players (although in the last 2 - 3 years he has brought in 3 world class players) so that doesn't seem to make sense, or he genuinely feels that what we have is adequate.
Honestly, paulinho is a disgrace to a midfield that once boasted of xavi deco etc As for the others I don't think details are necessary, the bottom line is that for a board with a sporting director Barca made a huge mistake in allowing lucho sign such players (he wasn't responsible for paulinho but he gave them such ideas), from now on we should keep a group of world class players (like RM), coaches who Believe in our PHILOSOPHY only should come and use these players to give us our football back, valverde is not successful because of messi only, he is successful because the core of this team is a group of the most technically gifted and intelligent players in the world, the board knows this and so do RM, that's why we are chasing players like fdj, deligt, and even alaba, because once this core of la masia talent is gone we would be useless if there are no adequate replacements, this board must continue signing replacements for our core and for once!
The 28 - year - old has established himself as one of the top marksmen in Europe, scoring 137 goals in 208 games for Dortmund, with 40 in 46 games last season, while his tally this year currently stands at 17 in 19 outings as he continues to prove his class.
even when he suffered a serious knee injury, instead of accepting the fact that he would never stick his legs into the spaces that were crucial for someone with straight ahead speed to succeed, the club actually contemplated giving him a chance to play up top where his lack of physicality, size and holding up play talents would been on display for all to see... these are not the actions of a club that really cares about winning at the highest levels, but they are the actions of a club that wasn't interested in spending the necessary resources to purchases a world - class striker, which is usually the most expensive position on the pitch... instead we adopted the horrible phrase «like a new signing» and proceeded to allow this ridiculous experiment to carry on, which ultimately caused some discomfort on the training pitch and inside the locker room as players battled for a position that shouldn't have been theirs for the taking in the first place... don't get me wrong, I believe that Walcott is a talented player, who can help a team reach their goals, if their goals are relatively modest... just look at the teams who supposedly expressed interest in his services and they weren't the kind of clubs who aspire to win at the highest levels... as for the reasons why he hasn't been bitching and moaning about moving on just look at the wage benefits he receives from our club and his obvious desire to enjoy the societal advantages that come with playing in North London for a club with worldwide appeal... so instead of continuing to try to fix a coat with a broken zipper simply move on and buy a new and better coat
We have some world class players in our team and he needs to continue to build on this with players like Rodriguez.
Thankfully though two of the most talented drivers in the series will continue in the class as Andre Lotterer and Neel Jani have been snapped up by Rebellion who will be returning to the LMP1 class for the 2018/19 WEC super season.
whatever you think of ramsey... and in my books he is a decent b2b but certainly not top class... he is not going to control the area between edge of box and centre line which is what all great DMs do... nor has coquelin proved that to me... he is a guttusso type player and has improved massively in that role... not convinced it is what will take us to challenging for titles however which is why a cavalho type DM is a needed addition especially as arteta and flamini are obviously not up to the task... but have always said that wengers job is to get best out of ozil santi and wilshere who are the real creative world class strengths of this squad... they need protection behind them and options in front... at moment the real worry is that wenger will continue to use mertesakher at CB and fail to bring in quality striker... so the song remains the same... without quality DM and attacking option we will be trying to retain 3rd place and reach qf of cl
I'd say if we do not win the league in the next 2 - 3 years and we do not continue to bring in world class players, then I'd welcome a take over, but I really do not see that happening.
