The 22 year - old is an exciting player for a full back, and waltzed past players at will during the 2010 World Cup for Portugal, but the fact that Liverpool play a more pressing game these days than under Roy Hodgson means that they are likely to
have more of the ball as well as play a higher line.
But United
had more of the ball as expected and Palace failed to get meaningful chances in the final third.

Building A Snowball By Dividend Mantra In this article, Jason
has beautifully explained building a growing snowball and could not agree
more as I
've been talking about Snowball effect since long time, where a small
ball of snow (a small initial dividend buys
more shares) that is rolling down hills, gathers
more snow (increasing dividends due to
more shares) with ever - growing speed (due to growing earnings) and becomes a self - sustaining machine that can support your rich lifestyle.

One comment I
've read
more than a few times over the years
of creating recipes for the blog is while energy bars,

But it was a much

As much as i think that's ugly and a bit reckless as well, i think it's still better to have more players like him trying to penetrate defenses and run head on with the ball, than to have our team pass the ball at the edge of their box and do nothing els

obviously I
would prefer to
have a much
more suitable alternative in the defensive midfielder positions but if they focused
more on defensive end and the occasional long -
ball, this
would allow Bellerin and Sead ample opportunities to bomb forward on their respective wings while still
having enough cover to maintain their defensive shape... it
would likewise allow for overlapping runs on both wings, thereby letting both Sanchez and Perez to cut inside and get shots away in and around the top
of the box with their most dominant feet... if goals were needed I
would sub Bellerin for OX and bring Ramsey in for Elneny then switch to a 3 -2-4-1 (
more of a 3 -1-5-1 with Ramsey playing higher up the pitch) and I
would only use Giroud
as a sub when the game dictated it for tactical reasons... this
would allow us to be a high energy team with incredible link - up play and a much

What amazed me is that after Özil goal our team collectively relaxed on the defensive end and was happy to sat so deep

have better mixed up our game plan sitting deep to defend in a
more compact way is good but when you

Can never tell if knj sucked here because he was running under del rio a «defensive guy»... rio never took over play calling on

You could say that the run

Infielder Billy Harrell may stick this year, but Outfielder Carroll Hardy looks

It's a shame really how people are so plastic over here.We seem to change our views so easily. Why can't people just make up their minds? It's like people don't

As I
've been saying and will keep saying we
have many good players but
as good
as they are they're overrated.We
've just compromised
as a club. There are problems in every single role in the team, from defence to attack.Yet these problems will constantly be ignored. Some players are cleary not good enough but say it and the stats lovers will come out.The main problem wrong with the team is the centre. The other problem is Wenger and his misuse
of players.I for one don't really rate Ramsey - Xhaka partnership in a sense that it's defensively weak with Xhaka not good enough defensively and Ramsey very inconsistent. The only player excellent defensively in the centre in Arsenal's team is Coquelin and I think he should be playing though many won'tsee why.Look how easily the
balls went through the midfield.Coquelin should be partnered with another CM in our current team.People shouldn't deceive themselves Xhaka that Xhaka isn't a DM.He's just not good defensively admit it.We need a DM
more than a CM in my opinion or a hybrid like Sanches or Jankto.
Butler
has always been used

that
has always been a lie, podolski got enough games every year and yep he was our best finisher but last time i checked football and wingers / strikers
had more to them than only finishing,
of course its a good thing but podolski didn't offer anything else than
having a shot when the
ball fell to him or came to him, this
would have been okay
would he
have been a striker, but
as a striker he never performed
In the midfield, (including RWB & LWB) we
have a whole bunch
of tweeners... none offer the full package, none make sense in our manager's current favourite formation, except for Sead on the left and Ox on the right, and all
of them
have never shown any consistency for
more than a heartbeat... Sead, who I'm including in this category because
of our present formation, looks like a positive addition, minus his occasional brain farts, but I
would rather see what he could do in a back 4 before making my mind up... Ox, who
has never played better, which isn't saying much considering his largely underwhelming play in previous seasons, seems to
have found a home in this new formation; unfortunately, can we really expect this oft - injured player to handle the taxing duties that come with said position over the long haul, not to mention, it looks like he
has no intention
of staying... Ramsey
has relied on the empathy that stems from his gruesome injury years ago and the excitement that was generated a few years back when he finally seemed to put in altogether, but on the whole he
has been a big disappointment (neither he nor the Ox
have scored enough to warrant a regular spot)... Wiltshire should be put on a weekly contract then played until he suffers his first injury, if and when that occurs he should be shipped - out and no one should very be allowed to say his name on club grounds ever again... Elnehy & Coq are average players who couldn't make any
of the top 7 teams currently in the EPL... both
have showed some great energy on the pitch, but neither are top quality and no good team can afford to
have that many average players on their bench playing the same position, especially with Coq's injury history / discipline concerns and Elheny's headless chicken tendencies...
as for Xhaka, his tenure here so far
has been incredibly underwhelming... we know he
has some skills to provide the long
ball but his defensive work is piss poor and he gives the
ball away too cheaply and far too often... finally, the enigma himself, Ozil, so much skill with his left foot but his presence
has been
more frustrating than uplifting... in many respects his failure
has been directly related to the failure
of this club to provide him with the necessary players up front, minus Sanchez
of course, and unless something drastic happens very soon his legacy will be largely a negative one (much like Wenger's)
Football its a sport with sports you
have injuries add to that its contact sport so the probability
of getting injured is sure Ok I can understand luck and
ball wobble
has got something to do with it but
as a soccer player you know you could get injured just like that two or
more players are going for the
ball you could be sandwiched you could instantly hit the same
ball one gets injured both get injured what ever but injury is part
of the game some go away pretty easy some do nt and can get aggravated because not all can wait in a in a heavy box for too long and if you do well you become weak so it will take some effort to get back to full strength praying that you do nt get a strain or muscular problem players mangers coaches and physician know that i know that because not long ago i
had bad thigh injury all was fine with it then i got a knock just below my knee 3 weeks ago and there is still slight pain in it but will try and play on Thursday thats part
of the game The manager
has to account for it in his head i got 11 players 6 might go down my contingency if it were to happen is and you still got a fully balanced team well thats the essence and Arsenal all fall because that contingency plan always falls short
arsenal
has won convincingly last FA cup even with all bench defenders, and what i
have learnt from that is how much working hard on training, especially for stamina and endurance so
as to press on the opponents not to give them time and a space, dominate on the
ball and win the match with a big team if arsenal continue to display that with the addition
of more skillful midfielders, left winger right winger wow arsenal will be monster
Our 3 back is just so wrong. We don't
have natural wingbacks even in this formation. It also seems to me that lots
of people here believe if you're good at right or left fullback then automatically you're good at RWB / LWB which quite frankly is untrue. That's why Oxlade Chamberlain can be considered at RWB but not right back.At RWB or LWB you're asking too much in terms
of attack from Bellerin and Kolasinac.A proper wing back can be viewed
as a
more defensive winger which quite frankly none
of them are and they don't possess the flexibility too to play that way.Our midfielders are also not disciplined enough because in 3 back there's a huge gap in the centre
of the field that must be covered by our CM's so indiscipline only means disaster. We also
have Ozil who looks like he's playing at RW in 3 back.In that we're limiting his impact because Ozil takes on his man because he wants to not because he likes to.You can't play such players at the wing. He's a proper No. 10 who likes to be given freedom. That's why Ozil plays likes he's lazy on the
ball and stuff. It's because he wants to be free and for that you need to put him at No. 10.
I
've seen Ozil play the
ball to Theos feet but Theo
had started the run, Theo doesn't like
balls into his feet
as he is a runner... yet at Real he played
balls in behind
more often due to
having a consistency
of pace to work with and get use to.
Mou been classified
as a tactical genius, i doubt it, i
would more say the smarts
of one player which was HAZARD he won the game for chelsea, my too poorest players were Ozil and Sanchez, both did not show physical strength on the
ball and was too easily ease off the
ball.
Girouds size means he can win lots
of duels in the box but lacks the trickery and mobility to do much
more hence why even a Walcott
would prove a handful for Terry or Kompany but Giroud stands almost no chance
as they can read his every move even if he beat them to an incoming
ball.
That fifteen game drought occurred just
as Alexis got back and Alexis who
has always
had much
more of the
ball went through a similar drought and Walcott?
More recently, it
has been a case
of incompetence in the defensive side
of our game, we
've tried to take the game to Chelsea and go guns blazing which put us at danger every time we lost the
ball on the counter attack especially
as we used to play a ridiculously high line.
Considering that our squad
has players like The Ox, Bellerin, Gibbs and Walcott, this system can really get the best out
of them
as the
ball is
more likely to get spread out to the flanks.
he said when he left liverpool he was a complete distroyer and going to barcelona changed him
as he
has to be
more assured in Possession
of the
ball.
Santi and Le Coq should
have an easier game
as we should see a lot
more of the
ball.
They will
have more of the
ball than us so we will
have to
as a consequence defend for most
of the time and will need that double defensive pairing
of El Neny Coq.
The rojiblancos started to control
more of the
ball in possession
as well, deciding to slow Real Madrid's attack by starving them
of the
ball as much
as possible since they
had struggled to contain them otherwise.
Danny is a 15 minute player, after 15 minutes
of each game he just disappears and all he does is run, close down, lose passes, he just does not give much
as a striker, we down talk Giroud but he gives us
more than danny, he will work hard, assist, score sometimes and bring this team mates into play... Welbeck
has got the worst link up play ever, his first touch is so bad, whenever the
ball gets to him we know it won't stick and that means he will be chasing down the
ball due to his poor first touch.
I said experiment because I am not sure how their chemistry
would work out on the pitch
as we do not see them everyday in training... for example I am not sure if Neny can play the defensive role
as effectively
as Coq, but since Coq is not performing at the level we usually expect
of him anyway, I
would pun for Neny there for now... Based on what I
have seen so far, I
would say Neny defensive game
would be based on covering and interceptions rather than going in strongly for tackles like Coq but the plus is he runs and covers
more ground than Flamini, and his movement and
ball distribution is definitely better than both Flamini and Coq.
But there appears to
have been a change in tactics based on the opening two games at the start
of the season
as they
have been looking for the long -
ball option up to Benteke
more often that not and it
has rewarded them with back - to - back 1 - 0 victories over Stoke City and newly promoted AFC Bournemouth.
We
have won trophies since ozil
has been a member, but i am one who believes we
would have won without ozil being a part
of our team, a lovely passer
of the
ball, but thats it, he is just a lovely passer, but still Cazorla
has more assists than him, ramsay
has more goals and sanchez provides
more threat to a defense, ozil at most times is closer to the opponents goal than all three mention, but does not offer
as much
as any.
He pointed out that we
had too many defensive midfielders wanting to bomb forward and leaving space behind for potential counter attack, and if you read between the lines and use it
as a source
of info for analysis, you can clearly see he is implying we need to be stronger in the midfield by not losing
ball possession, pressing
more when we don't
have the
ball and not let ourselves exposed.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety
of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style
of play
has become a shadow
of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out
of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few
would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't
have the personnel to move the
ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through
balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid
of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we
have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to
have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out
of our own end (I
have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might
have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi
has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the
ball... from our backs out wide, we
've seen pace from the likes
of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play
of Monreal, but none
of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio
of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects,
as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he
would have used Ox
as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise...
as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the
more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the
ball too long, gives the
ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I
've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long
ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part
of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a
more advanced role on the pitch...
as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and
has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he
had the nerve to act like this was all part
of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature
of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we
have Ozil, a player
of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out
of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front
of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he
has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual
would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part
as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I
would say that,
of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I
had to choose one
of those 3 players to stay on it
would be Ox due to his potential
as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one
of the most committed skill players we
've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already
of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs
of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the
ball too long and he will give the
ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he
has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger
has traditionally employed that
would even suggest such a player
would make sense
as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he
has some special skills and, at times,
has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack
of mobility is an albatross around the necks
of our offence... so when you ask who
would be our best starting 11, I don't
have a clue because
of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
Although I
've found it very cathartic to speak, vent and end occasionally rant about all things Arsenal, we need to act carefully and intelligently right now or we're going to get played by this club even worse than at present... the pro-Wengerites and the suits, who represent a considerable proportion
of the season ticket holders, don't want to believe that there is no plan and that Wenger
has mailed it in for several years now or that things are going to get much worse before they get better... why
would they... many
have spent a considerable sum buying some
of the highest priced tickets in the World... they want to
have a front row seat to see something special and to be seen doing so, which simply provides ample justification for the expense and the time invested... to many
of them, Wenger is the sun in their soccer universe... his awkward disposition, misplaced arrogance and his utter lack
of balls makes him a rather unusual cult figure, but the cerebral narrative seemed to embolden those who already felt pretty highly
of themselves... many might not even
of really liked football that much before his arrival and rarely games they weren't attending...
as such, they desperately believe that Wenger, and only Wenger, can supply them with their required fix... if he goes, they were wrong and that's a tough pill to swallow... they
would have to admit that they were duped... they will definitely resent whoever made them feel this way, but
of course it will be too late by then... so when we go overboard with ridiculous comments bordering
of anarchy, it scares the shit out
of them and they shift their blame towards us rather than at those who really perpetrated this act
of treason... we aren't the enemy... we simply woke much earlier and the reason our comments
have gotten
more vile in recent years is out
of utter frustration... in order for any real change to occur at this club we need to bring
as many supporters
as possible with us or the big money interests will fade and our ultimate objective will be lost... so it's time to focus on the head instead
of the heart for now
Actually, Second Chance is something
of a misnomer,
as most
balls have more than two lives.
I still don't understand people's obsession with boxing players in to a specific role... The whole «true DM» is a dying breed, even Coquelin is arguably something else considering the advanced positions he takes up often in front
of Santi and takes major risks in winning the
ball back for us... IMO, the reason Coquelin
has had such a successful integration into the first team is that he focussed incredibly hard on the basics
of his role first and foremost before adding other elements to his game (long -
balls, driving runs into space,
more aggressive
ball movement in general) it's not rocket science to tell a player to curb the attacking side
of their game and focus primarily on defence before attack... Nor is it that hard to see that playing in a midfield pairing with either Ramsey or Cazorla is going to be different
as well.
Giroud going to The Chavs actually weakens their squad
as Batshuayi will score
more goals than the Frenchman will.Giroud is NOT a good finisher he is NOT a good target man he does NOT hold the
ball up and bring others into the game he
has NOT got any pace He is NOT anywhere near the class
of Lacazette.JUST GET RID OF HIM.If he was anywhere near half decent he would have doubled his goal tally for us since he's been her

Hes a jedi but i agree we need cazorla back or player like him or rosicky or song and coquin wasnt song who can still play with the passing
of the other players in the team xhaka is usually good on
ball but so bad off
of it hes been a bust so far we almost need the french connection again they
have quality players we could use but honestly i think auba will be
more effective on flank pnce we get laca back it takes alot
of strength to play up front in the premier league it takes two years to rebuild in pl at least bit we
have had two rough years and not nearly
as rough
as chelseas or man u or Liverpool or well this is
as big
as totteham will be before we make them drop down again and oh do nt forget man city either lets remember our history
Lacazette always looks dangerous when he gets the
ball, but with the strength and pace
of EPL defenders he doesn't get much time on the
ball as our opponents
have learned his style
of play, but Wenger thinks that he still does enough for the team even though he can't seem to score any
more.
I
would play chambers in dm position alongside ramsey with ozil
having free role behind sanchez and ox on right that gives us plenty
of pace and will allow ozil to get on the
ball more and produce his magic passes he will be much
more influential then stuck out on the wing espec
as he is poor at tracking back so lets play to his strengths that will get the best out
of him and in turn create
more chances for forwards!
That 19 year old kid then
had the cheek to almost effortlessly dominate not just one
of them, but both
of them, for 90 minutes, his passing was superb, he battled, every time the spanish geniuses came forward, he was there with a crunching challenge to get the
ball, he
had the confidence to demand the
ball off
more experienced teammates, no matter his situation, facing his own goal, tightly marked, it made no difference, he received the
ball and
as a result
of either his immense skill or his animalistic desire, he broke free
of two
of the best midfielders ever to grace a football pitch and effortlessly glided forward.
