As the player explained in a Famitsu interview (via Shoryuken) from December, «projectile characters» (characters able to carry out
hadouken attacks) had an unfair advantage, so the game was tweaked to minimize that.
Currently, only Ryu's gear is available to unlock, alongside some of his iconic
hadouken and shoryken abilities
as emotes on the PlayStation Store.

as strong
as Ryu, Ken or Akuma and might be able to do a one handed
hadouken like her father can.

as fists you can imitate
hadoukens, shoryukens and tatsumaki special moves to perform them on the screen against a line - up of foes.
Finally, your own character possesses several abilities platforming and fighting abilities
as well, including a Megaman X style wall jumping, fireballs very reminiscent of the classic
hadouken and a Wario - like dash which can be used in any of the four cardinal directions to destroy block or enemies.
You can only play
as Ryu, which means three different attacks (
hadouken, shoryuken and tansu) plus a screen - clearing super move once you built up enough meter.
