According a New York Daily News editorial, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and Senate leaders Dean Skelos and Jeff Klein have joined those who want to
halt implementation of the standards for two years.
Under the amended bill, the state would
halt implementation of the standards until a series of public hearings is held at the Statehouse.
