MARIE BISHOP: With my first he actually dealt with it really well considering that he was six weeks preemie I was kind of shocked by that whereas my full term baby she has a lot of clicking and coughing and every once in a while a little bit of choking and we mainly deal with it, just we do a lot of side lane nursing which is besides that I get to lay down but it is what it is I feel like I can't really control it's when the letdown comes and the other side I have to push my hand really hard on the other side or I'll end up soaking myself because both sides are really strong

Smells good too You take some powder in your hand, add a little bit of water, and it turns into like a clay.

So that they can smell the food in the food court and be a little bit more excited and hand expressing colostrums drops and smearing them on their lips and trying to kind of get them to wake up.

Using a little bit of hand expressing until the first let of milk subsides or gentle pressure against the nipple prior to the feed are useful in this situation.

Sometimes the baby's body is curled up a little bit too much, so if you grab the baby and curl his rump down a little bit more, kind of making sure that maybe if you take like the palm of your hand and push into the area between the shoulder blade and the spine, if you do that, sometimes the baby even digs that chin in a little deeper, separating the safe and the nose from the overhang of the breast.
