There's a few things I'd have liked to have seen added, such as more curvature on the right -
hand side of the mouse's body to provide finger support, but these are relatively minor complaints, though still, I feel, justifiable ones.
Meanwhile to the left -
hand side of the mouse reside a further two buttons, the first of which is quite sizable cin comparison to those seen on other mice and falls neatly under command of the thumb.
Another thing that irked me was that on the left
hand side of the mouse there's a gap between the right - click and the piece on the bottom of the mouse, and my ring finger would often rub alone the edges of the gap, which was irritating.
The right
hand side of the mouse has a comparatively high wall which does help to a degree as my finger naturally rested against it, aided by a slight curve, but I still found my pinky would end up sliding across the mat like a petulant child being dragged through the shopping centre.
Two rows of three buttons apiece are presented on the left -
hand side of the mouse just above where the thumb naturally rests, providing a considerable amount of room for mapping controls.
From the SteelSeries RIVAL mouse software, you will able to set different features for the buttons on the left
hand side of the mouse.

Having picked up on the brain infection lead, I can identify with the following symptoms (from Paul's «
mice» post) on a transitory basis (not continually), which are worse when the groggy feeling on the right
hand side of my head is worse from those listed under i) hypoglycaemia: nervousness, irritability, anxiety, restlessness, difficulty in thinking; inability to concentrate, really slow, and ii) serotonin deficiency: anxiety, depression, impaired memory, low self esteem, loss
of pleasure, poor impulse control.

After that, though, things start to get a bit more interesting: on the left

The headphone port is in a poor position on the right
side, which means for right -
handed mouse users the wire is in the way
of your
mouse.
It's on the larger
side of most gaming
mice, which makes it an excellent fit for big
hands, but our medium - and smaller -
handed testers didn't have any issues with it.
If you don't directly rest your
hand on the
sides of the
mouse like I do, the Lancehead is a nice
mouse to hold and operate.
There are buttons along both
sides of the
mouse (the Avior supports 5 profiles); depending on which
hand you're using one
of these sets is a pain to get to, asking you to either take your ring finger off the top / wheel and slide down, or pull your pinkie back fro its resting place.
The
mouse sports eight programmable buttons and features a removable «clutch» button that attaches to the
side of the peripheral, and can be switched between a short and long version depending on your
hand size.
It's still a right -
handed mouse with a pair
of under - thumb buttons on the left
side.
