do you ACTUALLY support slavery, discrimination against women, discrimination against gays, discrimination against the
handicapped, beating
children with rods, etc. just like the Bible?
Note as well that my proposal here says nothing about
children who die before they are old enough to understand the Gospel, nor
does it say anything about people who are mentally
handicapped who can never understand much of anything about the Gospel.
How are you going to explain to him why you didn't support slavery like he
does or discrimination against women like he
does or discrimination against the
handicapped like he
did or (hopefully) not beating your
children with rods like he insists on?
Where
do the morals come from that tell you the Bible is WRONG to support the OWNING of other people; discrimination against women, discrimination against the
handicapped, unpunished BEATING of slaves,
children, etc..?
Yet given appropriate supervision, we
do not protect
children from experiences of non-rational people, such as the mentally
handicapped, in the same way.
Funny, I don't recall «Irish, Jews, Catholics» blowing up marketplaces, using mentally
handicapped children as explosives «mules», nor killing 3,000 people with four hijacked jetliners.
Could it be that He doesn't decide which families shall give birth to a
handicapped child, that He
did not single out Ron to be crippled by a bullet or Helen by a degenerative disease, but rather that He stands ready to help them and us cope with our tragedies if we could only get beyond the feelings of guilt and anger that separate us from Him?
I know that parents sometimes get in there because they want to help, but if you're
doing that, ultimately you're
handicapping your
child.

did not receive special services.

children or the learning disabilities specialist to curtail badly needed individual instruction with severely
handicapped children so that she can «bring out the hidden disabilities in all
