To add to the challenge and get your core in on the action, do triceps dips with
your hands on an exercise ball.
Now, squat down, tilt backward, and place both
hands on the exercise ball, leaning your weight into it.

For months that followed, the
exercise ball became our go - to when we had a fussy baby
on our
hands.
You can also use a small playground or
exercise ball and place him belly down
on there and roll him back and forth bringing him forward to his
hands and then back to his knees or feet.
Get an assortment of
balls (available at the dollar store), like those odd - textured koosh
balls, a stress - reducing
hand - held
ball which can be squeezed, balloons, a large beach
ball or a stress - relieving
exercise balls on which a child can sit when they get fidgety.

How to do the
exercise: Lie flat
on the floor and raise yourself up
on to your
hands and
balls of your feet, your
hands should be shoulder width apart and your feet should be together.
If you want to use weights
on the reformer, they need to be wrist weights, but the
exercise ball and Pilates chair are good candidates for
hand weights.
For this
exercise, you'll be
on your
hands and knees, but with the
ball under you.
There are several factors that can be altered during press up performance, including posture (i.e. elevation of feet and / or
hands) and
hand position (i.e. width of
hand placement), instability (i.e. performing the
exercise on a stability
ball), and loading (e.g. using elastic resistance bands).
You can do this routine at home using a couple of dumbbells
on each
hand for resistance and a couple of 25 lb plates placed next to each other as a platform to place the
ball of the foot
on in order to perform the
exercise.
