One observation of mine that underlines for me the new publishing atmosphere of 2012 (and looking ahead) is that, after hanging out at Kindleboards» Writers Cafe for most of this year, where many successful indie authors chat around the water cooler, I can not think of one indie writer that has gone from sales zero to hero, starting out in 2012.

Other dogs love to hang out on the dock or on the boat, but they may not like being in the water.
