You mention two
issues: fast idle
hard brakes Both of these point to a vacuum leak.
A few red lights and stop signs to work with no
issues and in the parking lot I tried
braking hard and soft to see if it happened again to get out and see if the
brakes were locked but it did not happen again.
The fleet also includes some newer Fiesta STs, with which the O'Neil team found some
issues during our session: over-strong front
brakes made it
harder to induce tail slides under
braking.
A third is a
hard -
braking car in front, although in all my test miles driven, that was never an
issue, but eventually every driver confronts this.
It that warning goes ignored, additional warnings are
issued and the system will eventually initiate
hard braking to avoid a collision.
