Washington, DC — Yesterday, President Donald Trump reinstated an expanded version of
the harmful global gag rule which, for the first time ever, targets international organizations
The administration's actions — including cutting funding for international family planning, taking action to «defund» the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and expanding
the harmful global gag rule — will have a devastating impact and put women's lives at risk.
The Committee also passed the FY 2018 State and Foreign Operations bill, which would slash U.S. funding for international family planning by nearly $ 150 million, prohibit funding to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and codify an expanded version of
the harmful global gag rule.
