As such, if owners want to enjoy full audio fidelity, they'll
have to plug in a set of
headphone to the Vice's own
jack or sent sound to a bluetooth speaker.
An online petition hosted on the Sum Of Us website and titled «Apple is ditching the standard
headphone jack to screw consumers and the planet»
has already gained over 220,000 signatures
as of the time of writing.
I
would expect Apple to not replace the
headphone jack with a terrible Bluetooth solution, so if it's
as rumored and a custom wireless protocol, it's a huge step forward.
Because the case is intended for use
as a permanent addition to your phone this means it must
have access ports for the
headphone jack and the charging port.
And,
as expected, the iPhone 7 does not
have a
headphone jack, rendering countless 3.5 mm
headphones useless with the device (or requiring the use of an adapter).
As has been rumored all year, the iPhone 7 line does not
have a standard 3.5 mm
headphone jack.
Naver says the 3.5 mm
headphone jack will still be included on the phone, and that the Galaxy S8 will
have an iris sensor on the front,
as well
as support for Viv's Bixby voice assistant.
Users are likely to adapt,
as they
have adapted to Apple's other significant changes like the removal of the
headphone jack, but that won't mean they'll necessarily like or prefer it.
