Undertow still has a
haunting sense of place, notably when the young
refugees arrive at a kind of hideout in the woods, a graffiti covered, half - demolished building
by a serene lake.
Now imagine that this work was created
by a German Jewish
refugee named Hannelore Baron, whose experience watching her father beaten during Kristallnacht would
haunt her and her art for all of her life.
