would say» i was wrong»
on their favourite players (that eventually flop) that we did nt buy.i think i am beginning to understand hafiz now when he
named fans favourites: cisse, diame, capoue, victor moses etc..

But I think we could say the
same of any big
name forward that Arsene Wenger signs this summer and Giroud must be aware that his boss is looking to sign a top class striker for Arsenal, so I reckon we should keep that in mind when we hear what Olly
had to say
on the speculation surrounding his fellow countryman, as reported by Metro.
Technically, Varanese's job is special events (getting a planeload of vacationing Lockheedians off for Europe each spring) and general troubleshooting (persuading two ex-collegians not to play
on the
same team, which
would upset the delicate balance of power in the employee basketball league), but his real vocation is remembering the first
name of what seems to be every Lockheedian, greenkeeper, bowling - alley operator and sports promoter between San Jose and La Jolla.
In the midfield, (including RWB & LWB) we
have a whole bunch of tweeners... none offer the full package, none make sense in our manager's current favourite formation, except for Sead
on the left and Ox
on the right, and all of them
have never shown any consistency for more than a heartbeat... Sead, who I'm including in this category because of our present formation, looks like a positive addition, minus his occasional brain farts, but I
would rather see what he could do in a back 4 before making my mind up... Ox, who
has never played better, which isn't saying much considering his largely underwhelming play in previous seasons, seems to
have found a home in this new formation; unfortunately, can we really expect this oft - injured player to handle the taxing duties that come with said position over the long haul, not to mention, it looks like he
has no intention of staying... Ramsey
has relied
on the empathy that stems from his gruesome injury years ago and the excitement that was generated a few years back when he finally seemed to put in altogether, but
on the whole he
has been a big disappointment (neither he nor the Ox
have scored enough to warrant a regular spot)... Wiltshire should be put
on a weekly contract then played until he suffers his first injury, if and when that occurs he should be shipped - out and no one should very be allowed to say his
name on club grounds ever again... Elnehy & Coq are average players who couldn't make any of the top 7 teams currently in the EPL... both
have showed some great energy
on the pitch, but neither are top quality and no good team can afford to
have that many average players
on their bench playing the
same position, especially with Coq's injury history / discipline concerns and Elheny's headless chicken tendencies... as for Xhaka, his tenure here so far
has been incredibly underwhelming... we know he
has some skills to provide the long ball but his defensive work is piss poor and he gives the ball away too cheaply and far too often... finally, the enigma himself, Ozil, so much skill with his left foot but his presence
has been more frustrating than uplifting... in many respects his failure
has been directly related to the failure of this club to provide him with the necessary players up front, minus Sanchez of course, and unless something drastic happens very soon his legacy will be largely a negative one (much like Wenger's)
Mertz should never
have been our captain in the first place... who
has ever heard of a team that makes 11th hour transfer buys (Arteta & Mertz) then seemingly places those
same individuals into prominent leadership positions from the get - go... indicative of the problems that
have permeated our clubhouse for the better part of 7 years under the Kroenke & Wenger... what is wrong with the players chosen and / or the management style of Wenger that doesn't develop and / or encourage strong leadership from within... Mertz was the fine collecting lackey from year one... this is what happens when you don't get world - class players because many times they want to
have a voice
on and off the pitch and this can't happen when you play for a fragile manager who
has developed a coddling wage structure where everyone is rewarded for simply wearing the shirt and participating in the process... not enough balance between performance and pay, combined with the obvious favoritism shown to some players regardless of their glaring lack of production... remember that Ramsey
has played in positions that make no sense considering his skill - set (out wide) and
has forced other players off the field or into equally unfamiliar positions with little or no justification (let's remember when you read articles about how Ramsey's goals this upcoming season being the potential X-factor for our success that this is the
same individual who didn't score a goal until the final week last season)... this of course is just one example of many... before I hear another word from Mertz I want this club to address the fact that no former player of any real consequence
has any important role in the management structure of this club, yet several former Gunners
have expressed serious interest in just such an endeavor (Henry, Viera, Adams, Bergkamp... just to
name a few legends)... there is only one answer: an extremely insecure manager!!!
Claudio Ranieri may
have been very fortunate to be able to call
on the
same small core of players for almost every league game but good luck to him and the Foxes
have certainly proved that team spirit and the right tactics can overcome an expensive but perhaps not well balanced group of star
names.
«You can not do a better job than wenger, and you can not
name a better manager» You actually come out with very good comments and analysis but to tar everyone
on here with the
same brush is a bit disrespectful as everyone

on whether or not a person (s) is up to scratch..
