The preface takes a swipe at «divisive» judicial pension reform and its impact on recruitment (I see by chance that one of the editors is Mostyn J) and contains a spoof judgment pre - RS v JS (though it is reminiscent of a case I had only the other week sitting as a deputy at Aldershot),
the headnote for which reads: Financial Remedy — Short marriage - Farming - Cross-claims - Conduct -(W) kidnapping, repulsive parents --(H) culinary incompetence, dysfunctional family — Twitter — W awarded # 10m.
Edwards was also cited in the Privy Council's 1947 decision, Ontario (Attorney General) v. Canada (Attorney General), [1947] J.C.J. No. 3, in the arguments section of
the headnote for the, arguably incorrect, proposition that «changing circumstances may alter the way in which the language operates.»
But the editing of a judicial decision and the drafting
a headnote for a decision is best performed from print and not from a screen.

A quibble is the absence in many of the recipe
headnotes of descriptive material about the baked good they introduce — it's important to provide info on techniques and ingredients, as the

And I believe that, now more than ever, we need professionally - written, quality
headnotes with extensive critical apparatus (including a topical numbering system)
for all «reported» cases.

headnotes and indexing may require the untruthful use of the words such as «truth» and «truthful.»

for your humorous reference to the absence of
headnotes and the comment that the student might have to read the case, I would suggest that the same holds true with many members of the legal profession, yourself of course excluded.
The CCCT recommends the publication of court decisions, subject to publication bans and privacy rules, but does not recommend that courts start annotating such decisions (
for example augmenting decisions with
headnotes or cross-references to other court decisions).

A direct consequence of that limited reach is that the contracted
