The shots match previously leaked images, which confirm the iPhone 7 will look very similar to the iPhone 6 / 6s but have a few
design tweaks and most notably lose its standard 3.5 mm
headphone port.
Because the new iPhones (iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X) will be
designed with glass backs, there's new potential for wireless charging, which will essentially render your lightning
port next to useless if you're already on that wireless
headphone kick.
There are Apple
design cues on the phone itself as well, with the bottom clearly resembling the one of older iPhone models, like the 6s Plus, with one big speaker grille, a charging
port (micro USB on the Huawei) in the middle, and
headphone jack on the side.
If, however, the iPhone SE
design changes, there is a good chance the 3.5 mm
headphone jack will disappear, being replaced with Lightning
port audio and Bluetooth support.
In this Samsung
design patent we see some sort of built - in cover with an on switch, a
headphone minijack and micro USB
port — but that's it.
The malware Ben - Gurion researchers
designed simply makes the computer think that a
headphone port is a microphone
port instead.
Other
design elements worth mentioning are the volume rocker and power button on the right side, the
headphone jack on the top, and the USB Type - C
port and speaker at the bottom.
Microsoft evidently considered including an alternative set of connectors to the single USB 3.0 Type - A
port, Mini DisplayPort, and 3.5 mm
headphone jack that feature on the final
design.
The Ocean Note is said to come with a curved screen
design and will apparently ditch the 3.5 mm
headphone jack in favor of a single USB Type - C
port.
Rumors have pointed to some
design changes and Apple could possibly be ridding the device of the
headphone jack and deploy wireless
headphones instead and the Lightning
port.
While the packs offer «forward -
ported speakers» and there are pass - through volume, mute and power buttons to seamlessly to «blend the
design of the case with your iPhone», the
headphone port is recessed, and unless you're using Apple's own white
headphones, you'll probably need to use the included 3.5 mm male to female extension adapter so you can use other
headphone plugs, especially those where the cord comes out at a right angle to the plug itself.
As you can see in the video below, the standard 3.5 - mm
headphone port is nowhere to be found, and the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus / Pro feature
designs almost identical to that of their predecessors, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
There's very little to dislike about either Mate 10
design, besides natural preferences for front - versus rear - mounted fingerprint scanners, manufacturer branding, and the presence of
headphone ports (only the Mate 10 has one).
Still, the
design has two speaker grilles instead of making room for a
headphone jack, and it has a Lightning
port on the bottom for charging and connecting to accessories.
Beyond that, the smartphone
design has all of the familiar features you might expect, including a
headphone jack, USB - C
port, and buttons for power, volume, and Bixby.

designed to fix the problem that it created when it released its latest iPhones without a dedicated
