You now don't auto
heal after battle, you must carry your damage on with you to the next battle.
Monsters can attack back, and teams will heal automatically over time (that is, they don't fully
heal after battle).
However, some of these cards, like a full
heal after battle, remain incredibly useful anyways.

battle party can consist of four characters, but you can swap them out with the other four characters at any time - even
after you've met up with the other playable characters, you can still pursue each character's individual story - you do this by making them the «main» character of your current party
In Normal mode I was able to blaze through most missions without needing to
heal my characters, even
after major
battles.
After running into enemies or commanding your team to attack in order to initiate combat, each character (provided that you first recruit them by completing small side quests for them) has his / her own unique and silly attacks that can be used in
battle — such as how the VP's Mom can scold enemies or the Baker can use pastries, instead of typical Fight, Defend, and
Heal commands seen in most RPGs — which reinforce the game's oddball and charming humor.
After the
battle, you may want to consider
healing at the Pokemon Center again.
You should train here as you catch, defeating any duplicates you encounter and heading back to Viridian to
heal when needed, because
after you have finally caught all the Pokemon you want here, if you continue along this path you'll find Blue, and be challenged to a (n optional)
