This gives some more freedom for when health and
healing items run low.
The only way to kill the thing is to just pelt it with endless missiles while absorbing as much damage as possible before
your healing items run out.

That means that every trip into a mystery dungeon is a balancing act between exploring for magic stones and getting through the dungeon without
running out of important
items like food,
healing berries, and elixirs that recharge your moves.
It is very expensive to buy
healing items, you can't just turn any party member into a healer like you can in Bravely Default, and
healing is a resource you can
run out of very quickly.
Bonfires and unlockable shortcuts typically showed up just before I
ran out of
healing items, and more importantly, willpower.
Often, even if I grinded a few levels above the recommended level, I would die on my first
run (or it would be an hour long slugfest involving the use of multiple
healing items).
I never did find a way to hotkey
healing items, so I was constantly
running, going into the menu to inventory and
healing before heading right back to combat.
The other person has a big touch - screen controller, and instead of doing shooting and
running they act as support, giving
healing items and extra ammo and maybe helping with certain tasks, like the block - placing you mentioned.
