James Christiansen, professor of biology
at Drake University in DesMoines, is studying how telomeres, the simple, non-genetic DNAsequences that sheathe the ends of chromosomes, function in reptiles.Each
time a
healthy human cell divides, it loses a little
bit of thetelomere, until the strands are too short to protect the chromosomes.
At that point the DNA in a cell begins to break down, which triggerssenescence and death.
Of course, two pounds is a
healthy amount to lose (most professionals recommend between a half - pound and 1 pound per week), but knowing that I still have quite a

I am a
bit older now, and I do also exercise
at least 3
times a week, but I don't make myself crazy with it... after induction I added a few
healthy things — dark chocolate, plain unflavoured yoghurt, the occasional
bit of brown rice, but I've dropped wheat and sugar completely and I've never looked back.
Yet
at times I find that the intuitive eating evangelists can veer into a territory of being a
bit judgemental about those who are making an effort to eat more
healthy, whatever that means.

time going over this and the next study cited by CarbSane and presented here, as they are excellent examples of really bad science (if that word should even be used
at all) that are very misleading, and they in no way support the position that increasing carbohydrate intake is
healthy...
at best perhaps only somewhat less unhealthy than worse diets.
