The first time I
heard this
military adage I thought it was just another one
of those feel - good sayings that had little to do with reality, but the more I experienced army and corporate
life, the more I realized it is absolutely true.
If you
live near Joint Base Elmedorf - Richardson, you've likely
heard the sounds
of the
military base in action; the guns firing, the planes taking off everyday like clockwork, and the base - wide sound system relaying everything from alert messages to the national anthem.
Its drifting in and out
of the soundtrack is partly a reminder
of Lena's previous
life, before Area X turned her world inside out — we

military's other devastating activities that are slaughtering marine
life, or about the
military's willingness to lie about their actions.
