intensity and frequency of (negative) emotions (e.g., Larson and Lampman - Petraidis 1989),
heightened levels of
emotional variability (Larson et al. 1980), increases in several types of psychopathology (e.g., Moffitt et al. 1996; Wight et al. 2004), and increased demand for independent self - regulation.
