The occasional collision detection issues had me bouncing off of stuff that was at least a few feet away from me which didn't
help during boss fights, plus the boss fights themselves can get really difficult in the early going since you're limited in how much you can upgrade until you level up a bit.

Combat mostly takes place along an AI party member that can also
help the character
during some of the
boss fights.
This means that you can go through an entire major
boss fight, where an Astral's
help in whittling down a health bar would have been heartily welcomed, without ever having the option of calling upon them, but then later they'll make an appearance
during some small - fry skirmish with a handful of imperial soldiers out on the open - world map.
The service will even let streamers share their controller with a viewer as part of a forthcoming update, allowing broadcasters to get some
help from fans
during a tough
boss fight.
A general lack of challenge, even
during boss fights, doesn't
help much (though not without their fair share of goofy fun and rad music), and the game is also quite short, taking only a handful of hours to not only finish the game but uncover most of the secrets.
The subweapons, throwing bombs and boomerangs —
help close the distance gap between your character and the enemy, and are useful in
boss fights, but are otherwise too slow and weak to be of much consequence
during the levels.
