like asparagus or butternut
squash when we first came
here, actually I thought green beans are much better than asparagus!!.
These fruits mentioned
here work well in baked goods, and even baby food prunes, veggies
like carrots and sweet potatoes, and butternut
squash can all be used in a pinch when you don't have time (or just don't want to) use the adult version!
Spaghetti
squash is very popular
here in the US, but I'm originally from Europe (Bulgaria) and I've never seen this type of
squash there I'm glad you
like the Mediterranean flavors, they were perfect for this dish
No willpower
here neither... I had my first butternut
squash of the year a month ago, in a soufflé

Having said that, most
squashes would work nicely
here — just re-adjust the liquid ratio to your
liking.

here are some favorites we've been cooking up at my place: - vegetable curry (grind my own whole spices, use whatever veggies we get in our weekly CSA share; radishes / beets, eggplant,
squash, greens, etc)- quick kale (sauteed with coconut oil, chili flakes, garlic, [lemon grass], soy sauce, lemon juice)- pac choi w / sauteed mushrooms «chinese» style (with fish sauce, rice wine vinegar, jalepeno / chili, soy sauce, etc)- roasted radishes w / poached eggs - «teamwork pasta» — this is your recipe for pepper and cheese pasta, but it helps having two sets of hands to make it in our house... we put an egg on this too of course - tuna pasta (chopped onion, garlic, lemon zest, chili flakes, tuna, olives — easily adaptable to what you already have in the house and
like)- roast chicken on friday - roasted sweet potatoes - omlets - challa french toast

Variation: Use other vegetables in place of the ones suggested
here — try corn kernels, diced carrots, bell peppers, green beans, sliced mushrooms, yellow summer
squash — whatever is available and whatever your family
likes.
You can use any
squash you'd
like here — pumpkin, butternut, acorn, delicata — paired with olive oil, fresh mint, toasted pumpkin seeds, and a simple balsamic vinegar dressing.
In the spring of 2010, just as it was starting to heat up
here in the Deep South, we got to work on Thanksgiving recipes while ingredients
like butternut
squash were still available.
Along with Swiss chard, your choices
here include green cruciferous vegetables (for example, mustard greens, turnip greens, kale, or collards), green leguminous vegetables (
like green beans or green peas), green
squash / gourd vegetables, (including zucchini and cucumber) green parsley / umbelliferous vegetables (
like fennel and celery), green allium vegetables (
like leeks), and green lettuces (
like romaine).
First - I try and
like squash and zucchini, but most recipes leave me wanting more - Not so
here!

like this most of the days but I also sometimes switch to Butternut
Squash and salmon (its expensive
here..)
The sweet and earthy flavors of winter
squash, leeks and Swiss chard swirl together
here in a frittata with a creamy, custard -
like texture.
Roasted kabocha
squash a.k.a. japanese pumpkin (sub any
squash or sweet potato you have on hand
here) * note: though you can eat the peel, if you suffer from digestive issues
like me, I recommend removing it.
Pumpkin is all the rage right now with orange recipes popping up everywhere (
like these Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies), but
here's a different seasonal
squash to try that is just as versatile.
If you don't have or don't
like butternut
squash, I think sweet potato would go really nicely
here, too!
I always
like Viognier or Chardonnay wine with Butternut
Squash anything, so it certainly works
here.
Similarly, the interior
here is the same cozy place the TT cabin has always been, with the
squashed roofline
