It has recently had a new event added known as tap battle which is a rhythm game that has you put your four preferred
heroes against a wave of endless enemies that you have to defeat at the right moment by tapping on the screen accordingly.
Not exact matches
There will be arenas from past games in the series, extra game content separate from the story,
waves of different enemies, but the emphasis will be one - on - one battle
against many different
heroes.
Last stand mode sees both of you in acting the
hero against endless
waves of enemies.
For those of you not familiar with the Dungeon Defenders franchise, you control one of four
heroes (many more can be unlocked with play) and you defend a certain location
against waves of enemies, by using class - specific defensive towers, traps and special attacks.
This mode pits all three
Heroes and all three Villains
against each other with support from regular infantry on quite tight maps, the goal being to simply annihilate the opposing team's
Heroes or Villains to win the round, with five rounds being needed to claim the overall victory, giving plenty of time for everybody to get a shot at
waving a Lightsaber or jetpacking around the place like a lunatic.

Survival mode pits you
against twenty
waves of increasingly powerful
heroes; each map is randomly generated, giving D3 a lot of replayability after you've completed the campaign.
Arena of Valor pits team of players
against each other in classic MOBA style, letting you select between over 35
heroes to push your creep
waves down lanes and destroy the opponent's base.
In Half Genie
Hero, Shantae sets out to stop a crime
wave that's swept through Sequin Land, leading up to a showdown
against her nemesis Risky Boots.
First is Horde Mode where the
heroes fight
against a vast enemy army that grows in numbers and difficulty from
wave to
wave.
In Epic of Kings, players are invited to control their
hero and lead him into battle
against waves of lethal adversaries as he embarks on a simple mission only to find out soon that he is part of a larger adventure and challenge.
The offline modes include only a tutorial, training missions, and mind - numbingly boring matches
against A.I. bots in either
wave - based survival, or standard battles (with optional
Hero characters).
It's a vastly different story on iOS, of course, where that platform is over-saturated with examples of tower defence games, and indeed, which has served as something of an evolution chamber for it, with various features like
hero units and upgradeable towers added over the years to the basic «plant down some towers to defend
against waves of enemies» template.
