We measured a very
high Peak Brightness of 602 cd / m2 (nits), the Highest Peak Brightness that we have measured for a Smartphone for all Average Picture Levels APL, including Full Screen White.

The iPhone 6 Plus matches or breaks new records in LCD Smartphone display performance for:
Highest Peak Brightness, Lowest Screen Reflectance, Highest (True) Contrast Ratio, Highest Contrast Rating in Ambient Light, most accurate (pure logarithmic power - law) Intensity Scale and Gamma, most accurate Image Contrast, and the smallest Variations with Viewing Angle for Brightness, Contrast Ratio and Color.

Our detailed lab tests show that there have been significant display performance improvements in the new Note models including higher resolution, higher absolute color accuracy with better calibration,
higher peak brightness with improved screen visibility and readability in high ambient light, and higher display power efficiency, resulting in a number of new records for smartphone display performance.
On the plus side, the iPhone 5 has a much
higher Peak Brightness (556 versus 421 to 491 cd / m2), a much lower Screen Reflectance (4.5 versus 5.6 to 6.5 percent), a much higher Contrast Rating for High Ambient Light (121 versus 65 to 88), and therefore much better screen visibility in high ambient light.
It is well known that full array local dimming (FALD) backlight systems produce better black levels — and therefore better contrast — as well as
higher peak brightness, all while minimizing cloudiness and halos around bright objects on dark backgrounds.
For Cinema settings, this means the TV will max out at about 540 nits, though the TV is capable of
higher peak brightness in Vivid and Standard picture modes.

As the result of their very versatile power management capabilities, OLEDs are not only more power efficient than LCDs for most image content, but they now deliver much
higher peak Brightness than LCDs because the maximum power can be delivered to just the sub-pixels that are needed for producing the current image.
But the P - Series also offers much
higher peak brightness than the M - series (more on that in the Performance section).
The first TV that comes to mind is Vizio's own M - series, but when you consider that the P - Series offers better contrast,
higher peak brightness, and overall better performance for just a few hundred dollars more, this is one case in which it just makes more sense to spend that extra cash and go for broke.
LCDs often have
higher peak brightness, which helps deliver HDR content with added pop.
In simple terms, this has been achieved by allowing to the panel to display a much
higher peak brightness than before.
Now we're seeing monitors that utilize quantum dot technology to offer superior color accuracy, increased color gamut, and
