Appearances by Hamilton alum Brian D'Arcy - James and star Renée - Elise Goldsbery are among
the highlights of the supporting cast, and pro-wrestler John Cena absolutely kills it as unsmiling softie drug dealer / Fleshlight inventor / TSA agent Pazuzu.

Reeves does a nice job
of distancing himself from The Matrix trilogy by playing Constantine as an exceedingly grizzled figure (smart choice, given that the man can literally see demons), while the
supporting cast is peppered with a host
of familiar faces (Peter Stormare even pops up as Satan, delivering a flamboyant performance that's easily the
highlight of the film).
(It also doesn't hurt that the
supporting cast has been filled by an almost astonishing number
of familiar faces, with Stanley Tucci's tremendously appealing turn as Olive's sarcastic yet compassionate father undoubtedly standing as a
highlight.)
But... the
supporting cast was a big
highlight of the show, so many fans will be surprised to see that Stevie, April, Clegg, and Ashley might not be getting up in it.
Mortdecai does, however, possess a watchable feel that's due primarily to the efforts
of a better - than - average
supporting cast; though McGregor and Paltrow are quite good here, it's clear that Bettany's turn as the fiercely loyal Jock stands out as an obvious
highlight within the picture.
The
supporting cast is lined up with name actors who do very fine work in small roles,
highlights coming in the form
of Viggo Mortensen as the William S. Burroughs surrogate, Kirsten Dunst as one
of Moriarty's scorned lovers, and Amy Adams, giving a performance very far removed from her usual routine.
There is noticeably less Negasonic Teenage Warhead this time around, which is a shame as she was a
highlight of the first film, but Pool 2 makes up for this gap by providing a huge and fantastic
supporting cast that are full
of surprises and laughs themselves.
The kids are charming and the
supporting cast — Christopher Lloyd as a cemetery caretaker and Ray Liotta, as Billy's dad, whose wacky TV commercials are the comical
highlight of the film — lift this comedy from above its direct - to - video ambitions.
