The Series 2 cars had some minor modifications over the original
design including a front
hinged bonnet (
rather than the «crocodile» bonnet of the Series 1), uprated front calipers and oil pump and an enlarged sump.
The massive rear -
hinged doors and exquisitely detailed leather, wood and metal trim are not overtly nautical in
design but the generous interior dimensions and high driving position does make one feel like they are piloting something
rather substantial.
One area where the Nissan did fall short was the trunk
hinges — they are the cargo - crushing exposed
design rather than non-intruding struts.
