One of my favorite things about
holiday cookie baking is that they make amazing edible (and low cost) gifts!
All the ladies in my family including my mom, sister, nieces and nanny get together to do
holiday cookie baking each year and nanny's crescent cookies are a mainstay.
Here are some custom made (by us) play food boxes to use for pretend play
holiday cookie baking.
I'll admit, when I get to cookie baking, especially
holiday cookie baking, I'm inclined to create some over the top, off the wall, peanut butter - filled, spice infused, fudge dipped cookie of sorts.

As for recipes this month, it is a mixed bag of chocolate decadence in Decadent Double Chocolate Dome
Cookies, luscious blueberry pies, a sumptuous, and some cross border
baking in honour of our two national
holidays.
A couple of years ago I won a
holiday baking contest from this recipe when I paired these up with homemade gingersnap
cookies.

So while brittle wasn't something we made during our marathon
holiday baking sessions — those were reserved for fudge, chocolate chip
cookies, thumbprints and peanut butter blossoms — I definitely remember the occasional package that I saw sitting in the cabinet.
The fact that these treats don't require the oven, makes them the perfect
holiday recipe to keep in mind because who really has time to be
baking a bunch of

I am not a huge chocolate fan and constantly searching for good,chocolate - free
cookie recipes - especially now, during
holiday season, when I seriously get in a
baking mood.
Now that all the
holiday music and gift - giving is finished, I will have time to
bake some
cookies!
I am starting the next leg of
holiday baking today with these double chocolate peppermint
cookies while celebrating one of my favorite and long time blogging friends.
While
baking my
holiday cookies, the ones I
baked on these cracked on the edges and got darker on the bottom but weren't done on top, however the ones I
baked on the silpat turned out perfectly.

I guess
baking cookies for Christmas is not a tradition popular in many countries, although just like Halloween, some
holidays get adopted by other cultures fast these days In my own culture,
baking cookies for Christmas is not a thing, we
bake a feta cheese phyllo pie for instance but I happily adopted this sweet tradition when I moved to the U.S., and especially when kids came on board Happy
holidays!!
