For me specifically I always remember holiday dinners in our dining room where my mom would break out the crystal and prepare the table the week before with festive decor.
If you saw my previous posts of our family room, dining room, and back porch you will see that I continued to keep the holiday decorating simple throughout the house.
Although we usually have holiday meals in our dining room, Easter is typically more of a brunch for us — our breakfast area is lovely for that, with all kinds of natural light!

Last night I was thinking that I wanted to use cranberries and sage in my holiday decor, so I decided to make a beautiful, fresh and fragrant garland for my chandelier in the dining room.
Also, around Christmas I would put different candies into clay pots and set them through out the house or down the center of the dining room table along with greenery, etc just to make the table festive for the holidays.
