The time of year when our
dining rooms are full of family and friends, our kitchens full of
holiday treats, and our hearts full of warmth and love (well, for some of us).
Artisan Beach House opened in a preview capacity during the
holidays, hosting a sold - out, sophisticated James Bond - themed New Year's bash which filled its brand new lounge,
dining room and multiple special event spaces.
I never ever thought we'd be able to afford to stay at a hotel as wonderful as The Grand Floridian, but Virgin
Holidays managed to find us a great deal with the
dining plan included so it was actually quite reasonable, and because the
rooms are so spacious it meant all 5 of us could stay in one
room, which cost less than two
rooms elsewhere.

For me specifically I always remember
holiday dinners in our
dining room where my mom would break out the crystal and prepare the table the week before with festive decor.
If you saw my previous posts of our family
room,
dining room, and back porch you will see that I continued to keep the
holiday decorating simple throughout the house.
Although we usually have
holiday meals in our
dining room, Easter is typically more of a brunch for us — our breakfast area is lovely for that, with all kinds of natural light!

Last night I was thinking that I wanted to use cranberries and sage in my
holiday decor, so I decided to make a beautiful, fresh and fragrant garland for my chandelier in the
dining room.
Also, around Christmas I would put different candies into clay pots and set them through out the house or down the center of the
dining room table along with greenery, etc just to make the table festive for the
holidays.
