I didn't do much in the way of adding
holiday stuff in the built - in's, but did make sure there were elements of white, black, and gold, which seemed to be where my «theme» ended up this year.

holiday), eggs, rabbits etc are directly stolen from pagan fertility symbols that are relevant to the return of earthly fecundity
in the Spring.
This is important
stuff to keep
in mind during the upcoming 4th of July
holiday weekend.
This
stuff is great to have on your
holiday table to surprise your guests with something new, yet familiar, or just make a batch of it to have alongside your meals for the week, to get more nutritious wintery roots
in your diet.

In the last few weeks, I've posted three new pie recipes, my «ideal»
stuffing, and even a couple of
holiday breakfast recommendations.
Anyway,
in November sometime around 1986, Mother Earth News [← affiliate link] published a recipe for
Stuffed Pumpkin as an alternative to the traditional meat - based
holiday fare.
How cute are those, great for Halloween, I was
in the store the other day and it's already decorated for Christmas and
holiday stuff is out.
But, during the
holidays, when the pretty bags of fresh cranberries show up
in the produce section, I've just got ta make the homemade
stuff, especially if the menu includes a turkey.
That said,
in between sorting
stuff and testing desserts for the upcoming
holidays, I've been relying on some staple seasonal vegetable dishes to take me through the dark season.
during the
holiday season and we roast them over charcoal (it is common to have an outdoor kitchen
in the tropics so we can do
stuff like these...) YUM!
It's also finds its way into most
stuffing recipes around the
holidays and, since stores sometimes sell out
in their busy season, it is nice to have it on hand so that you are prepared.
There are times when I share a dessert immediately after making it (usually seasonal
stuff — I don't make my
holiday treats too far
in advance), and then there are times when somehow a recipe goes almost a whole entire YEAR without making it live on the blog.

in a lot of my

I would love to have some of this cake, but i am now cutting back on the chocolate

My grandmother and mother always made this
