These stories are certainly tragic, and while I didn't read the full stories from the blog you mentioned (too sad; can't stomach), it does sound like there is a lot of irresponsible stuff going on in
the home birth world.

the home birth world needs to be challenged, just like the hospital birth world is, to have standards and ethics.

I wonder if they will travel to areas of the
world that traditionally have «
home»
births and tell them how unlawful and wrong they are.
If I ever decide to have children I would definitely have a
home birth (luckily, I live close to The Farm in TN which is known for some of the
world's best midwife's).
Let's just support the right to choose, the right for all women to be able to access any medical care she needs to support her choice for
birth — and support women who are grieving all over the
world at
home, in hospitals and many other places for their babies who didn't make it.
