well in group classes, like one - on - one discussion, hands - on activities, more field trips, special interest projects, etc. and some of their methods don't work
well for
home schooling, like lectures and extensive workbook work (especially for the younger children, under grades 5 or 6, where hands - on experience is what they remember).
Well in our
home school we chose to rather follow Charlotte Mason's advice and rather allow them to be educated by life, living alongside mom,
doing things that happen naturally
in the
home, reading lots of books to them and enjoy daily nature walks.
I also didn't see or hear any mention of
school lunches being
better than lunches from
home in either the study or
in the Today Show piece.
