While this all may sound intimidating, the intent of the adoption
home study is to
support and prepare the adopting family for the adoption
process and placement of a child.
Family Connections, Inc. would be pleased to
support your family through the
home study investigation
process.
The main responsibilities of this position include:
home study assessments including interviews,
home visits, pre-adoption counseling, facilitation of pre-adoption education, written reports; provide information and
support for families during the adoption
process; post placement visits,
support and written reports, provide counseling and
support to families across the lifespan.
We will also
support families living in MD, VA, MN and Western WI with their
home study process.
We will help your family prepare to build your family through open adoption with a
home study, pre-adoptive training, outreach resources, and ongoing
support throughout every step of the
process.
Generally, this includes choosing an agency, attending orientation and / or training classes, completing a
home study, engaging in the placement
process to bring a child into the
home, legally finalizing the adoption, and accessing resources to
support the needs of the child and the family over time.
