pets are the hardest group to find
homes for.
Our mission is to be the model
for both rural and urban shelters; we reunite, rescue, shelter and secure permanent
homes for adoptable companion animals and livestock; we support a healthy and responsible
pet community as well as advocate
for responsible
pet ownership; we fight the
pet overpopulation problem; and we protect the community
by managing the epidemiological risks and enforcing the laws and ordinances pertaining to the animals.
PARL's mission is accomplished
by providing appropriate shelter and humane care
for homeless animals, seeking permanent responsible
homes for adoptable animals, reducing
pet overpopulation through strict spay / neuter measures, and providing a diversity of humane education programs to meet community needs.
After the animal has been at the shelter
for five days, it becomes an
adoptable pet and will be adopted out or taken
by a rescue group to help find it a
home.
Baltimore (October 27, 2016)-- Five local animal shelters, the Maryland SPCA, BARCS, Baltimore County Animal Services and Baltimore Humane Society, each a member of the Baltimore Animal Welfare Alliance, along with the Humane Society of Harford County, are working together to find
