At any given time, there are only
so many
homeless pets that can fit in my
home,
so I always remind myself that no matter how much I love my fosters and no matter how much fun they are having at my house, there is a more perfect place
for them to be, a family where they can be the center of the universe.
Our ultimate goal is reduce
pets over-population by providing loving
homes for all the
homeless pets, and at the same time helping every human share their lives with a furry companion that they
so dearly want.
So beginning February 1, 2014, Maddie's Fund is joining forces with Tri-Valley Animal Rescue (TVAR) to expand TVAR's efforts to rescue, care
for and find
homes for homeless pets.
VSA is 100 % supported by donations and relies on
pet supply donations, gift cards, and monetary donations
so we can provide food and veterinary care to our
homeless pets waiting
for their new forever
homes.
Unfortunately, we do not have enough adoptive
homes on Kauai to place all of our incoming adoptable animals,
so the A.L.O.H.A. transfer program is vital to finding placement options
for Kauai's
homeless pets.
If you would love to adopt a
pet but are unable to do
so, a great option to consider is sponsoring a
pet at Kent Animal Shelter, helping us to provide food, shelter and veterinary care
for homeless animals until forever
homes can be found.
So Sher and Joe decided to go
for it and soon their Gaithersburg, Maryland
home was inhabited by a 10 - pack of
homeless senior
pets (ten animals became their limit, a number Sher soon surpassed after Joe passed way in 2008 from lung cancer).

I was taken to Northridge, California with fifteen other
homeless pets so the rescue lady could find a forever loving
home for us.
Money is literally no object
for those that feel even their
pets need to be designer, which makes it
so impressive to see those who still choose to open their
homes to a
homeless animal instead.
They work towards finding new and lasting
homes for the furry friends under their care
so that not
pet will ever have to live in fear of being
homeless ever again.

After being
homeless this year I am
so grateful
for the roof over my head in 300 square feet, my
pet laying on our couch, a sweet jumble of books and family photos, and the great blessings that I have in the gift of creating a
home that reflects the beauty of everyday life.
