Whether it be public school or
homeschool, you strike me as the type of mom who will
do what is in her heart that is best for her
children.
I
do know some
homeschooling families that
homeschool one
child because of whatever reasons and the others are in school.
The things my daughter finds to
do and creates on her own with me just very loosely facilitating are now and have always been way cooler and more enriching for her than the organized things they
did in preschool (and sadly now school - school, to the extent that I would not mind
homeschooling, but that's a whole other more complicated issue...) A lot of it depends on the
child and the home environment.

do is hope their
children are trained like pit bulls to «just say no,»

I write books, draw, paint, cook, sew, parent and

do yoga more often than not, and am constantly using my creativity to both express myself and not take life too seriously.
Depending on your state
homeschool laws and requirements you may be required to keep records of what you
do with your
child at home.
It is really not possible to
do homeschooling for
children when both parents work outside the home full time.
Homeschooling a
child with special needs, whether an exceptional ability in learning languages or a musical instrument or a learning disability that requires adaptive instruction, may thrive with one - on - one attention that
does not need to take 25 - 30 other
children into account.

Every
homeschooling parent wants to give his
child the best possible education, but I think that schedules and curricula like the ones I see online are at once time - intensive and complicated for the parent, and at the same time don't really help young kids reach all of their potential.

children being able to integrate with a mainstream environment later?
We have found that often we feel a little between all groups of others... we aren't
homeschooling, nor
do our
children have typical pleasures (no constant screen time, very limited shows!)
Every Wednesday morning while I go to my Bible study class all 5 of my kids go to their classes, they are with other
homeschool children with volunteer teachers that they
do a Bible lesson with, crafts, sing, etc..
We live in a town that we (mostly) love but are looking to move for better schools for our
children or, if those areas with better schools don't pan out, for a more urban area with more support for
homeschooling.
I don't know maybe it's the
homeschool mom in me but I am always looking for an opportunity to teach my
children.

Part of
homeschooling is trying to make the best decisions for your kids - but sometimes that can be hard, especially when you
do as well in a routine as your
child does.
I was team mom for little league, cheer mom, pta mom, chaperoned school field trips, volunteered as a classroom helper and parent at their schools (when in public school) attended toddler tumbling and mom classes, was a
homeschooling parent for one of my kids with leaning disabilities, I didn't have to scramble to figure out what to
do about work or where to take my kids for
child care if they were sick, I led and was involved with the church groups with my kids, I spent summers with them
doing all kinds of things like traveling, visiting grandparents out of town, amusement park trips, swimming, picnics, and hiking, instead of them being stuck with a sitter every summer.
But I quickly learned that with 6
children (at the time) and
homeschooling and blogging and animals to care for, I
did not have the time and patience for it.

do I, a neuro typical adult with no formal education on dealing with special needs
children in an educational setting,
homeschool these kids?
I like to tie in great
children's literature with my sensory bins, so that is what I am going to try to
do as a contributor for Enchanted
Homeschooling Mom each month.
My husband is very very supportive of
homeschooling and he believes it is the «gold» standard of education, but I feel unschooling is more my and my
children's style and as it is less intensive he feels I'm not really
doing anything.
Then, a
homeschool educator knows that she
did not use a state approved curriculum to teach her
child how to potty train or how to teach her native tongue to her
child.

Your local
homeschool group will likely offer plenty of opportunities for your
child to play and learn with other
children, but if they don't, you can take the initiative and make it happen.
Has any research been
done on emerging adulthood (and adolescence, for that matter) in the two million to four million American
children being
homeschooled?
Even if you don't
homeschool, these tools and resources may help make school easier for your own
children and speed up the learning (and homework) process.
