The Roman Catholic church maintains this position, recently
describing the
homosexual orientation as an «objective disorder».15 In Protestant and Anglican churches, a distinction is now often made between a
homosexual orientation and
homosexual genital
acts; the orientation is part of some people's God - given make - up and not something for which they should be condemned.
This is a term that was invented to
describe people with a pathological fear of
homosexuals — the kind of people who engage in
acts of violence against gays.
