Around 1990, just 12 years old, I was getting to and participating in environmental discussions (children's summits and Austrian national TV shows offering teenagers a chance to give speeches and discuss ethical issues on live television), going to Germany to the Children's Summit in 1991, organized by the magazine «natur»; in 1992 I tried to make it to Rio, and the feeling around then was one of urgency, public support, amazement and
hopefulness about the young people who were going to change things.
