Perplexed and disturbed
about a
horrifying evil in his own life or the life of some one close to him, the believer may find it hard to trust God, may come to question God's goodness or his concern, may even come to rebel against God.
Yet this flies in the face of everything we should sensibly know at the end of our
horrifying century
about the nature of man - that he is capable of good and
evil, that his nature is divided, that he is marked by original sin.
